Your business applications, modernised and coded to fit.

Web, Windows and mobile applications in C# / .NET, with their APIs and databases. And your existing applications (WebForms, VB.NET, MVC, WinForms) migrated to a modern stack, page by page, without stopping the business.

Web, Windows, mobile: all of .NET, one team.

We build bespoke software for companies that need a reliable tool, and for software vendors that need an experienced pair of hands on their product. New or existing, browser, Windows desktop or phone: the same standard, code that lasts.

Modernising existing applications

Your application works, but it is fifteen years old, nobody dares touch it and it holds your roadmap back. We move it to modern .NET, page by page, without stopping the business: WebForms, VB.NET, ASP.NET MVC or WinForms to Blazor / .NET, with old and new running side by side during the transition (SSO, shared data), an audit of the existing code, a migration plan, costing by batch, and practices brought up to date (Git, code reviews, tests, DevOps).

AI inside your applications

Domain assistants, natural-language search, document extraction: AI features integrated cleanly, with hosted or local models depending on your constraints.

services/audit.cs

Audit, consultancy and code review

An outside look at your architecture, code and practices, with concrete, prioritised recommendations. Ideal before a rewrite or when taking over a project.

services/reinforcement.cs

Team reinforcement for software vendors

A senior developer who slots into your team, your tools and your rituals, billed in blocks of days. Training for your developers included if you want it.

// technologies : everything we practise

A complete .NET ecosystem, from legacy to modern.

Twenty years of .NET, from 2005 WebForms to today's Blazor: we speak the language of your existing application as well as that of the next one.

// modernisation : git merge legacy/webforms -> main

Modernise without a big bang.

Rewriting a fifteen-year-old application in one go is the surest way to spend three years on it and lose features along the way. We do it differently.

  1. Audit of the existing application

    Inventory of pages, business rules hidden in the code, dependencies. We know what we are migrating before we start.

  2. Modern foundation, side by side

    A new Blazor application plugged into the same database, with shared authentication: both versions live together.

  3. Migration in batches

    Screens are rebuilt in prioritised batches, compared with the original and validated by your users. Every batch is delivered and usable.

  4. Switch-over and retirement

    Once everything has moved, the old application is switched off. You are left with documented, tested code and a trained team.

// method : collaboration pipeline

Simple, transparent, no surprises.

  1. First callstage: discovery

    A conversation to understand the need, the existing system and the constraints. No commitment.

  2. Detailed proposalstage: proposal

    Scope, estimated days, schedule and rate in writing. You approve with a purchase order.

  3. Iterative deliverystage: build & review

    Regular releases, demos, code versioned in your repository, code reviews. You see it move forward.

  4. $

    Billed on actualsstage: invoice

    A monthly invoice for the days actually worked, to the half day. No opaque fixed fees.

// about

A senior developer, not an agency.

DEV IT is Flavien Deslandres, a .NET developer for over twenty years and independent since 2012. From Brittany, in western France, I work for software vendors and companies in the UK and France, in English and in French.

You talk directly to the person who writes the code. No account manager, no sales layer, no junior hidden behind a senior: the same person from the first call to the last delivery.

My favourite ground: business applications with a history, that have to evolve without being broken. That is where experience makes the difference.

// faq

What we get asked most.

README.md
Do you work on site or remotely?

Remotely, from Brittany in France. That is how we have worked since 2012 with clients in the UK and France, with regular video calls. An occasional trip for a kick-off or a workshop is possible.

How is the work billed?

On time spent, at a daily rate stated in the proposal. Invoices are monthly, for the days actually worked, counted to the half day. For a well-defined project, a fixed price can be offered.

Can you take over code written by someone else?

Yes, that is a large part of what we do. We start with an audit to understand the existing system, then propose a plan: fix, evolve or modernise, depending on the state of the code and your goals.

Do I own the code and deliverables?

Yes. The code lives in your repository (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab...) from day one, and intellectual property in the work is assigned to you as it is invoiced, as set out in the proposal.

Which technologies do you not do?

Our core is the Microsoft ecosystem: C#, .NET, Blazor, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, plus Android in Kotlin. For a PHP, Java or native iOS project we will tell you so frankly and point you elsewhere.

What about availability and time zones?

We take on a limited number of engagements at once so that each gets real attention. France is one hour ahead of the UK, which makes for a full overlapping working day. Describe your project and we will reply within 48 hours with a realistic start date.

// contact

Let's talk about your project.

Describe your need in a few lines: we get back to you within 48 hours with questions, a first opinion and, if it is a fit, a written proposal.
